Periapical radiographs
Bidimensional radiological image of the teeth, up to the tissue surrounding their root.
Dental or periapical radiography is a study that obtains a two-dimensional radiological image of the teeth, up to the tissue surrounding their root. It uses equipment that emits X-rays under specific conditions and an image support (radiographic film, digital sensor).
It is one of the most frequent studies in dentistry, as it allows the tooth to be examined in its entirety, from the crown to the apex, the periodontal space, and the surrounding bone tissue. It is frequently used as a complementary tool to clinical diagnosis. It allows the diagnosis of pathologies and measurements of canals. Its quality and fidelity to the actual documented object are highly dependent on the operator.
We offer both analog (conventional) and digital periapical radiographs. Digital images are available in various formats, from JPEG images, ideal for quick sending by email or WhatsApp, to DICOM format with viewer, sent through the cloud.
